Wow, I wrote a 1,235 word fic in an hour today. This is the first thing that I have written in a year. The last fic I posted on AO3 was on April 8, 2023. O_O

Like most of the fandom, I was inspired by Buck's new storyline on 9-1-1. Wanna check it out?

20 Years!

Apparently it's been 20 years since I created my dragonydreams Yahoo email account, which means it's been 20 years since I decided to get involved in fandom. I created this account with the sole purpose of signing up for Yahoo Groups to read Buffy fic. I believe that I submitted/posted my first fic about 6 weeks later in September. But creating the email account was the first step to entering fandom.

I don't even want to imagine what my life would have been like if I had not taken that first step. I can't imagine my life without all of the friends that I have made in all of my various fandoms. I would not be the person that I am today without all of you.

I know that I'm not on here all that much anymore, lured away by the flashy gifs of Tumblr, but I'll try to make more of an effort to check in here more than once every several weeks because I do miss you. ::hugs::

dragonydreams Anniversary

Apparently it has been 17 years since I created my dragonydreams email account. Which means it’s been 17 years since I discovered Buffy fanfic. I created this email so that I could join Willow-centric Yahoo groups to read, and come September post, fan fiction.

This one email address creation set me on a path that changed my life, for the better. I can’t imagine my life without the many incredible friends that I made through fandom.

And it all started here.

I have created a new writing prompt blog - using photos as prompts: wordsfrompictures

From the welcome post:
We all know the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” As writers, we want to use our words. This blog will provide an image once a month to be used as a writing prompt (stories can be as long or as short as needed). Open to all fandoms and original fic.

All photos will be found on stock photo sites. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the images we will be using:

Prompts will be posted on the 21st of each month.

Note: I will just be doing this on Tumblr, but if you want to participate just check the blog on the 21st of each month and then you can post stories on AO3 and submit a link to it and I will still include it in the master post each month. (I'll have more notes when I post the first prompt.)
