I think most of you know that I've been jonsing for a new laptop for over a month now. Well, last night I bought it!!! My friend Scott (who picked out my car for me too) went shopping with me and took me out to dinner as a belated birthday present. I found my Hewlett Packard Pavilion 330 at Best Buy. It was at the top of my price range, but I figured that I could either buy a laptop that already had everything I wanted (15" screen, 512MB RAM, 60GB hard drive, wireless internet, DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive, etc.) or I could buy something with less and then pay to upgrade. I also bought the wireless router and will spend my weekend getting frustrated trying to get it working.
And being the strong-willed person that I am, I haven't taken it out of its box yet. When I got home it was already after 9pm and I knew that if I started playing with it I wouldn't get to bed until way late, and I do that too often as it is. So, my playing will have to wait until Saturday.
Why not tonight? I will be out again. Shock. Gasp. The Museum of Science has a Lord of the Rings exhibit that my friend reminded me ends in a little over a week. I saw all three of the LotR movies with her, so it makes sense for us to go to the exhibit together, then we're going to dinner.
This is the day for outings. My office only has a half day (we leave at noon) for a company outing. The Senior VP is treating us all to lunch and bowling. Which means that I should go try to finish squeezing 7 hours of work in to three. Yeah, right.
Oh, and I finally added a bunch of links to my LJ. I think I got everyone on my Flist, but if I forgot anyone, please let me know and I'll add you as soon as I get a chance.
