I had fun writing the dream. Can't you just picture Spike as an angry puppy?
During season two Willow wanted so desperately to be wanted - mostly by Xander, but we'll forgive her for that once she accepts that Spike wants and needs her. And that she wants him to need her.
Hopefully I'll find some time this weekend to get working on the next chapter.
