dragonydreams: (SunnyD Awards - Giles)

Only 3 days left until nominations close at the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards end. I could still use more nominations in the following categories for some decent competition:

Best Beta
All of the Crossover Categories, especially X-Over Pairings
Original Character Pairing
Best Series

And people, please keep in mind that a Crossover Pairing is a BtVS character paired with a Book/Movie/Other TV Show character. And also, an OC cannot be one of the characters on BtVS/AtS. (Yes, I had one person do both of these on the same nomination form. Buffy/Willow was nominated as a Best X-Over Pairing and Willow as Best OC.)

I may just burst into tears.

It was very sad. Too bad they were both categories that need nominations.

I'll pimp in my LJ for those categories you mentioned if you'd like.

Will work on getting some nominations submitted tomorrow. :)

How are you, Betsy? Have an all right Monday?

I was hoping you'd see this post. Thanks!

I'm doing pretty well. Starting today I'm now going to Curves 4 days a week. I hit a plateau and am upping my exercise to try to get past it. Otherwise, just getting caught up.

How're you doing?

:) I'm good. Just spent two hours tuning my piano. There was nothing on tv and it needed to be done. Now, at 8:40 pm, I'm about to fall asleep. I think I'll go to bed soon.

The fact that you've already hit a plateau is a good thing, in my opinion. It means that you've already lost a significant amount of weight. I'm going to Curves three times a week, and am still getting used to working out that often. It is nice, though, isn't it? Feeling more healthy?

Yeah, it took my body a while to get used to working out on a regular basis again. Now I can feel it when I miss a day, or I have to go off-schedule. It's a good workout though. I take it you're liking it?

I hope you get some good rest tonight. I'm still getting caught up from the weekend. We were up until 3am Saturday night, then I got up at 8:30 on Sunday.

Okay, here's the thing: I've always been really lousy about pitching in on awards sites. I love being nominated, I love winning pretty plaques, but I rarely actually sit down and nominate things, even when there are authors and stories that I love, and that I think need more recognition. But I'm turning over a new leaf. See this new leaf? It's turning. And I want to nominate now. Really, I do. But . . . since I've been so lousy about nominating at SunnyD before, I'm not quite sure how it works. See, I went over and checked it out, but unless I clicked on the wrong button, it only lets you nominate one story per entry and I know most awards sites are hard-core about only allowing you to nominate things in one shot. With SunnyD, are you allowed to nominate several different stories, filling out a different nomination form for each one, or do I have to pick my favorite story, and only nominate that one?
:-)

I like your new leaf. As someone who runs an awards site, I'm terrible at nominating other authors at other sites (although I nominate myself sometimes at sites that allow it). I've been trying to do better too.

You are allowed to nominate as many stories as you want, just use a new form for each story. You just can't nominate the an author in the same categories with different stories though. But you can nominate different authors in the a category you've nominated someone else in. Did I just confuse you?

I went, I saw, I nominated (copiously!) and I . . . think I screwed up in a couple of places. *sheepishly avoids eye contact* For example, I think I nominated the same author twice in one category, which I'm not supposed to do, right? Argh. Anyway, I hope most of my noms were close enough to correct to do you some good!

Rather than go into all of the noms now, I'll just say that generally, I'll use the first nomination that I receive for an author if they're nominated for more than one story in the same category by the same person. Thank you for taking the time to do so many nominations! I probably won't update the site again until Thursday, which is the day nominations close.
