Big Dilemma

This season is looking to be a b*tch for me. There's at least three nights where I have overlapping shows that I'll want to watch. Tonight is the first. Bones (David Boreanz' new show) premiere's opposite the season premiere of Gilmore Girls.

I've just realized that I cannot watch one channel while taping another. Granted, I have a small TV in my bedroom that doesn't have cable, but I'd rather not watch either show in there. But tonight I might just do that.

I have recently discovered Torrents, however. Now, since I only discovered them about a month ago, I've never tried to download a show as it's being shown. (I did download the first season of Veronica Mars. That's another one that will be conflicted - on at the same time as Lost on Weds.) For those of you use use torrents, how long before I will be able to download a fresh episode?

I suppose that for tonight, I can tape Bones and watch GG on the little TV. I've gotta watch that one as it airs so that I can find out if Luke says he'll marry Lorelai. Then later I can check to see which, if either, or both, I can download in the future.

Why do all the good shows have to be on in the same time slot???

I decided a long time ago that there's some kind of plot to make it difficult for me to watch the few shows I do like. Gilmore Girls has always been a problem, last season was the only time it didn't air opposite something else I wanted to see.

I convinced my mom that she really needed a vcr for her bedroom the other day so I could tape all the shows we want to see. My mom works evenings so she needs everything she watches taped, plus the shows I want to watch...

At my last apartment, I didn't use a cable box, so I was able to watch local channels on my TV while taping something through the cable. For some reason, I can't seem to do that now with the cable box. Sigh.

Is it digital cable? If it is you need a special switch thing. I have the switch but it isn't installed and I don't know how to do it. I also don't want to pay the cable company to come out and do it so I'm just waiting until they have to come out for something else.

And I will get the poll up tonight (we had a lot of entries) as soon as GG and House are over.

I'm glad there were a lot of entries this week. Makes me feel better about not making anything. I started to make one, but wasn't happy with it, then got busy. I'll post new caps tomorrow after work.

I think when Sho was, errr, obtaining Lost last season (she was using a bit torrent site I believe) it was usually up within one or two days.

Oh tell me about it. I have DISH satellite and you can only tape the channel you're watching. What the hell good is that?

You'd think with all our technology we could make it work better. Well, I could always pay $10+ a month for a DVR, which would let me record one channel and watch another, but I'd prefer to suffer watching one show on my 13' TV. Makes me glad that I never got rid of it when I got my 20'.
