dragonydreams: (SunnyD Awards - Giles)
The Winners for Round Twelve of the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards have been posted. You can check them out here.

Congrats to the Winners!

I'm taking a brief break before the next round, so nominations won't open again until October 1, 2007. I didn't want to be in a nomination phase for both SunnyD and Willowy Goodness in January, and this was the best way to get around that.

If you're looking to be active with an awards site now, check these out:

Happy Endings Awards is in desperate need of votes. If you like happy endings on your BtVS stories - and if you're reading my journal you must - go check it out.

Shades of Grey Awards opened nominations today.

Bodice Ripper Awards has extended nominations until September 6th.

I heard about [livejournal.com profile] fire_fic from [livejournal.com profile] lostakasha and have offered up my writing and iconing services for this good cause.

From the Community Info page:
Renee Green is a hard-working single mom with six boys ranging in age from 16 to 1. On August 13, 2007 their home and all their possessions were destroyed in a fire -- leaving them with nothing but their precious lives and the clothes on their backs. Every single thing belonging to Renee and the boys was destroyed. School supplies. Clothing. Shoes. Appliances. Toys.

Everything.

If there's a plot bunny I've mentioned, or your own that you'd like me to write, or if you would like personalized icons of your favorite character(s), this is your opportunity to hire me to write/make it. And the money will go to help a family desperately in need of aid.

Check out my offering and make requests here.
dragonydreams: (Heroes - Nathan/Claire - Hugs)
I made these icons to be used at [livejournal.com profile] fandom_hugs. It is a fantastic new multi-fandom community "recognizing the people that make fandom special". Check it out!

Please credit [livejournal.com profile] dragonydreams if you use any of these.

Four more below cut )

They just announced the first week of honorees and I am flattered to be among them. Thank you to whoever nominated me. My friends [livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip and [livejournal.com profile] beadattitude are in this week's list as well. You can view the full list here, as well as how to participate in sharing the love.

Boredom is excellent for finally doing things you keep meaning to do. In my case, that means pimping.

My Sites
1) Nominations end on July 24th at the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards. We only have 104 nominees so far.

2) Voting ends at the [livejournal.com profile] paire_awards on July 31st.

3) Walking a Thorny Path (Lindsey-centric archive) has been open for a little over 2 months and only 3 people - aside from me - have posted fic.

4) Challenge 80 closes at 8pm EST tonight (Tuesday) at [livejournal.com profile] btvs_hush

Sites that aren't mine
1) Voting is open at [livejournal.com profile] bestofheroes until July 23rd.

2) I believe that nominations are still open for the Happy Endings Awards.

I'm sure there's more going on that I should be pimping, but can't think of it now. Are any sites in voting stages I should be mentioning? Comment if you'd like a site added to my pimping post.
dragonydreams: (Default)
I am here to pimp [livejournal.com profile] anti_censor_fic: The Post Strikethrough '07 Ficathon that celebrates anti-censorship, created by [livejournal.com profile] scratchingpost1.

There no signups. All you have to do is pick a prompt, write a story, and post it there.

This is for stories where questionable subjects come up out of context and create trouble. They can be serious or funny, long or short.

I'm already working on one story. *grin*

I'm going to be helping out at [livejournal.com profile] willowstills for the summer, and we could use some more members over there. Participation had slowed down quite a lot recently, but I'm hoping that we can change that. I'm looking forward to having a fun summer filled with lots of Willowy goodness for [livejournal.com profile] purplefeen to come back to in the fall.
dragonydreams: (willowsguys)
I am here to encourage those of you who are icon makers to join a couple of icontests. [livejournal.com profile] willowstills, a contest focusing on Willow is getting back in the swing of things after a lengthy hiatus, and [livejournal.com profile] sex_ona_stick is a new contest featuring The Men of the Jossverse.

And on a personal note, [livejournal.com profile] ripping_icons is in need of more entries. I had to extend the last challenge until this Thursday (6/15) and only one person has entered so far.
dragonydreams: (Cordelia - Interesting)
Just signed up for a new ficathon: [livejournal.com profile] sidesofacoin. The deal is this: you sign up for a pairing, you receive a prompt and you write not one but two stories dealing with that prompt - one as full of fluff as a kitten's head and the other as angsty as... well, Wes in season four of Angel, or say, Buffy in season five of BtVS. OR you can write two stories, showing different points of view for the same event.

Thought it sounded like fun.

Also a reminder that voting is going on at the Happy Endings Awards, Lie to Me Awards, and of course the SunnyD Awards. (I'm nominated at the two that I don't run.)

I know that the Bodice Ripper Awards (Giles-centric) are currently seeking nominations.

First, [livejournal.com profile] shannon730 has created a website for those of us who write happy/fluffy fics. Woo Hoo! There's so many dark!fic awards sites that I have only one story to enter with. This is much more up my alley. So go check out The Happy Endings Awards. (I nominated Don't Warn the Tadpoles already.)

Don't forget that Angel Without Wings Awards, Shades of Grey Awards, Bodice Ripper Awards, and Best of...Awards are currently in voting stages.

[livejournal.com profile] ripping_icons and [livejournal.com profile] btvs_hush are in voting stages until tomorrow evening.

[livejournal.com profile] willowstills and [livejournal.com profile] spikestillness are trying to get back into the swing of things, so go check them out if you're not already a member and enter those icons.
dragonydreams: (dragonydreams - Willow)
Susan Carr, over at The Mystic Muse has made my stories available in eReader format. So those of you with a Palm OS or Pocket PC can download my fics and enjoy them anywhere. You can find them on my page at her site.

And after chatting with her tonight, she has me wanting to go read WaTchers: The Virtual Season, which is in its third season. So I have a lot of reading ahead of me.

I knew I'd forgotten something when getting my awards site pimpage together. Well, one was forgotten and the other wasn't ready yet.

Xander fans, go nominate at the White Knight Awards!

Willow fans, voting is now open at the Willowy Goodness Awards! I'm up in 7 categories myself, but vote for whoever you think is most deserving.

Updates

dragonydreams: (W/A - Tie Up Willow)
Whispers on a Breeze tied for first place for the Hit it Again Award at the [livejournal.com profile] rerunawards! It was one of only 2 BtVS stories to win, so thank you to everyone who voted for it/me.

Awards Site Pimpage
Bodice Ripper Awards (Giles-centric), Serenity on the Hellmouth (Jossverse character-centric), Best of... Awards (BtVS/AtS stories completed during 2005 - you can't nominate yourself, so go nominate your favorite authors/stories), & Shades of Grey Awards (general BtVS/AtS) are all still accepting nominations.

Voting is under way at the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfic Awards & Angel Without Wings Awards.

Story Pimpage
Some of you have seen/pimped Freedom by [livejournal.com profile] purplefeen, but I need to do the same. If you haven't read this wonderful D&s Willow/Spike fic yet, go do it!

A win, a postponement, and pimping.

Winners were posted last night for the Fade to Black Awards, although winners were not emailed (at least I wasn't). Good thing I checked my LJ. Inked Retribution was Runner Up for The Crack That Whip Award.

Congratulations also need to go out to [livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip, [livejournal.com profile] dark_lycoris and [livejournal.com profile] writtenbyfates.

If you've seen my nomination for Legal Persuassion at Love's Bitch Awards, be prepared to see it again. I have requested to have it held over to the next round because the link going to it doesn't work and my wrong name was used (dragonydreams as opposed to Elisabeth). My request to have it fixed was lost, and with voting well under way by now (it ends January 20th), I asked to have it carried over because any votes for it in this round would be based on people recognizing my LJ name, not on the quality of the story.

I have TWO new awards sites to pimp today too.

[livejournal.com profile] mrsdrake has just launched Serenity on the Hellmouth. As stated at the site: These awards are for fanfic and fanart that center around the characters in the Jossverse - Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Firefly, and Serenity. I think this is a fabulous idea and you should all check it out and nominate like crazy.

[livejournal.com profile] claudia6913 has also launched a new awards site today: Best of...Awards. This will be an annually run site to determine the best writers/stories/art of the previous year. Authors/Artists can not nominate themselves at this site, so it's up to you, the fans, to nominate your favorites.

Thought I'd take a quick second to mention that the [livejournal.com profile] rerunawards are currently in the voting stages. The fact that Whispers on a Breeze is nominated for The Hit it Again Award has nothing to do with this pimp. ::wink wink::

I don't know when voting closes, so if you plan on voting, best to do it sooner than later, even if you don't vote for me.

dragonydreams: (The Fund)
As some of you have probably heard, [livejournal.com profile] wickedfox and [livejournal.com profile] beadtific have created [livejournal.com profile] the_fund to help some fandom friends who were hit by Hurricane Katrina.

What does [livejournal.com profile] the_fund do? In short, fanfic writers, betas and artists are offering up their services, for a price. The rules can be found on the community info page, as well as the basic prices.

I had already made all the monetary donation that I can afford right now to the Red Cross before I'd heard about this community, so I am offering my services to be purchased.

You can check out my offerings H E R E.

While I do not know the affected people personally, my heart goes out to them nonetheless. Homes and jobs have been lost due to Katrina, and they will need all of the help they can get in order to meet even the most basic of needs.
dragonydreams: (SunnyD Awards (Grave))
Believe it or not, the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfic Awards are in need of nominees. In the month that nominations have been open, we've only had 61 nominees (that's including every category a story is nominated in). There's only been ONE story nominated in the slash category so far (and here I can say how happy I am that it was [livejournal.com profile] incasink's Belief). There's a lot of completely empty categories this round. So please, go nominate your favorite authors, stories, betas and websites!

The Angel Without Wings Awards have been taken over by the wonderful, talented, and insane [livejournal.com profile] shannon730. The site was already in voting stages when [livejournal.com profile] claudia6913 realized that she simply didn't have time to keep up with this site. So it has moved to the linked location and voting has been reopened and extended until September 15th. Go Vote! (The fact that I am nominated in a couple of categories has nothing to do with this pimp. *wink*)

Finally, the Shades of Grey Awards are taking nominations for the next round a little early.

For both SoGA and SunnyD, please read the rules before submitting your nominations! Rules change and new ones are added to both sites each round (out of necessity), and we'd hate to have to delay or throw away your nomination because the rules weren't followed.
dragonydreams: (R&G - Dark - by me)
I just found out that there's only been one nomination so far at the Scene Stealer Awards. This is an innovative Awards Site run by the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] just_feen.

The categories are: )

I know we all have our favorite moments in stories, so lets try to get them some recognition. Nominations end on August 21st.

On a personal note, today marks my 1 year anniversary on LJ. Sometimes I wonder what I did before I had it. Then I remember, I had more time. *grin*
