I heard about fire_fic from lostakasha and have offered up my writing and iconing services for this good cause.

Renee Green is a hard-working single mom with six boys ranging in age from 16 to 1. On August 13, 2007 their home and all their possessions were destroyed in a fire -- leaving them with nothing but their precious lives and the clothes on their backs. Every single thing belonging to Renee and the boys was destroyed. School supplies. Clothing. Shoes. Appliances. Toys.

Everything.

If there's a plot bunny I've mentioned, or your own that you'd like me to write, or if you would like personalized icons of your favorite character(s), this is your opportunity to hire me to write/make it. And the money will go to help a family desperately in need of aid.

1) Nominations end on July 24th at the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards. We only have 104 nominees so far.

3) Walking a Thorny Path (Lindsey-centric archive) has been open for a little over 2 months and only 3 people - aside from me - have posted fic.

I'm sure there's more going on that I should be pimping, but can't think of it now. Are any sites in voting stages I should be mentioning? Comment if you'd like a site added to my pimping post.

I'm going to be helping out at willowstills for the summer, and we could use some more members over there. Participation had slowed down quite a lot recently, but I'm hoping that we can change that. I'm looking forward to having a fun summer filled with lots of Willowy goodness for purplefeen to come back to in the fall.

Just signed up for a new ficathon: sidesofacoin. The deal is this: you sign up for a pairing, you receive a prompt and you write not one but two stories dealing with that prompt - one as full of fluff as a kitten's head and the other as angsty as... well, Wes in season four of Angel, or say, Buffy in season five of BtVS. OR you can write two stories, showing different points of view for the same event.

Thought it sounded like fun.

Susan Carr, over at The Mystic Muse has made my stories available in eReader format. So those of you with a Palm OS or Pocket PC can download my fics and enjoy them anywhere. You can find them on my page at her site.


And after chatting with her tonight, she has me wanting to go read WaTchers: The Virtual Season, which is in its third season. So I have a lot of reading ahead of me.

I knew I'd forgotten something when getting my awards site pimpage together. Well, one was forgotten and the other wasn't ready yet.

If you've seen my nomination for Legal Persuassion at Love's Bitch Awards, be prepared to see it again. I have requested to have it held over to the next round because the link going to it doesn't work and my wrong name was used (dragonydreams as opposed to Elisabeth). My request to have it fixed was lost, and with voting well under way by now (it ends January 20th), I asked to have it carried over because any votes for it in this round would be based on people recognizing my LJ name, not on the quality of the story.

I have TWO new awards sites to pimp today too.

mrsdrake has just launched Serenity on the Hellmouth. As stated at the site: These awards are for fanfic and fanart that center around the characters in the Jossverse - Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Firefly, and Serenity. I think this is a fabulous idea and you should all check it out and nominate like crazy.

claudia6913 has also launched a new awards site today: Best of...Awards. This will be an annually run site to determine the best writers/stories/art of the previous year. Authors/Artists can not nominate themselves at this site, so it's up to you, the fans, to nominate your favorites.

As some of you have probably heard, wickedfox and beadtific have created the_fund to help some fandom friends who were hit by Hurricane Katrina.

What does the_fund do? In short, fanfic writers, betas and artists are offering up their services, for a price. The rules can be found on the community info page, as well as the basic prices.

I had already made all the monetary donation that I can afford right now to the Red Cross before I'd heard about this community, so I am offering my services to be purchased.

While I do not know the affected people personally, my heart goes out to them nonetheless. Homes and jobs have been lost due to Katrina, and they will need all of the help they can get in order to meet even the most basic of needs.

I just found out that there's only been one nomination so far at the Scene Stealer Awards. This is an innovative Awards Site run by the fabulous just_feen.

On a personal note, today marks my 1 year anniversary on LJ. Sometimes I wonder what I did before I had it. Then I remember, I had more time. *grin*
