I signed up for the 2008 Giles Hurt/Comfort Ficathon. I think this is the first time that I've done this one. I only chose one prompt since I'll be on my cruise for 1/3 of the writing period. There are prompts for all kinds of Giles pairings, as well as Gen prompts, but you can probably guess what pairing my story will be. *wink*

Speaking of Giles, nominations have been extended due to lack of nominees at the Bodice Ripper Awards. Go nominate your favorite Giles fic, authors and art! Then go nominate them at the SunnyD Awards too. *grin*

Why did I only give myself 5 days before announcing winners at the SunnyD Awards? When I went to check the dates at the site to see how I was doing on time I discovered that I said winners were to be announded on February 11th. Obviously, they're gonna be late. I just finished tallying all of the votes today. Still need to make templates and do the new layout.

And before anyone offers to help, thank you, but I'll be fine. I have a system for making the awards once I get the template set up and it should go pretty quickly. The next round is a character I already have tons of photos of, so I just need to choose the ones I want to use and crop them, then pick a new (similar - because I'm not going to change the homepage header) color scheme. I'm a control freak and don't delegate well.

This means that I will probably be in hiding this week. Half the reason I got little done last week was that I was reading and/or chatting when I got home from work/Curves. Work was insanely busy last week due to Andrea leaving and then getting our accounts for next week's job fair dropped on our desks on Thursday. We didn't even have a whole week to get used to the additional work before even more was handed out. And this time there were only two of us to split the job fair accounts. Good thing it's the smallest one we've had in a long time.

But this means that I'll be really busy at work all week, so I can't read during the day. Plus, I'll be out of the office all day working at the job fair on Tuesday. So reading will have to be done at night, after working on SunnyD. I'll most likely fall behind, so you've been warned. I probably will do even less commenting on LJs than normal, too.

I will be posting a couple of fics though. My story for the No Pressure Giles Ficathon is "due" on Wednesday, but it's finished. I then plagerized it and turned it into a Paire fic, which will also be posted this week around Valentine's Day.

Voting is officially closed. Yay! And I made a dent in the tallying. I'm down to 55 more votes to add up. Since not everyone votes in every category, it can go pretty quickly. It should only take one or two more sessions, depending on how quickly I allow myself to be distracted.

On a completely separate note, I signed up for mara_sho's The SlayerVerse Fandom 'athon'. I have a plot bunny that's been nagging at me for a long time that I think I'm going to give free rein for this occassion. It's a crossover, so I'm scared that I'm going to screw up with the characterization on the other show. I've never even attempted to write in this fandom before and new things scare me. I almost have it figured out as to how the crossed pairing is going to meet though. Wish me luck.

A month or two ago kallie_kat and I were lamenting the fact that such little new Willow-centric fic was being written these days. We started brainstorming and came up with a ficathon.

Well, after taking work home last night, and then rushing this morning, I am completely finished with everything that needs to be done this week - and I have an hour left before I can leave. ::sigh:: This is still better than not finishing by 5:30.

Now if only I could work on icons at work... I have several icon contests that end tonight that I'd like to make icons for, but sadly, just haven't had the time/energy this week to do.

Speaking of icons... This icon: came in first at illyria_still. I really liked the way it came out and had to show it off.

Can you tell I'm bored yet?

Tonight I'll be watching In Justice while tallying more SunnyD votes. (99 to go!) I am rapidly becoming addicted to this show. It's a great concept: They help to free people who were wrongfully convicted of crimes.

Question for ficathon participants. How soon before the ficathon deadline can I post my story? Do I have to wait until the due date to post it or can I do it sooner? Does it usually depend on the host? phendog, if you see this, can I go ahead and post my stories or do you need me to wait until Monday night (after work - yes, I work on President's Day)?

Okay, back to re-reading Chained to You by purplefeen so that I can read the new chapters.
